We are sitting at the Disneyland hotel at the end of August. We will be four adults and two small children. Is there a bus system at Disneyland? How long of a walk will it be to get to the two parks? Also, the monorail will be closed. Is a car needed

Greetings and welcome to planDisney, Sheryl. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. Your visit to the Disneyland Resort is nearly here and I'm thrilled to help you prepare.

I'm so excited to hear that you will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel during your magical adventure. It's hard to choose which hotel at the resort is my favorite, but I think the Disneyland Hotel just might be it. It's so iconic and classic and gives me all of the nostalgic vibes. It also doesn't hurt that you're steps away from a DOLE Whip when staying here. While there aren't any buses or shuttles from the hotel to the theme parks, you'll find that it is a close and easy walk. The walk to both theme parks through Downtown Disney District takes about 10 to 15 minutes and no car is needed either.

I love all of the benefits when staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, but I think my favorite perk would have to be Early Entry. This allows you to enjoy a designated theme park 30 minutes before the park opens to the general public. Just make sure that your theme park reservations align with the theme park that is offering Early Entry for each day of your visit. It's a great way to get a head start on your attractions list at the beginning of the day.

If you haven't already, I recommend downloading the Disneyland app for your stay. In the app, you'll find a map of the resort, attraction wait times and (my favorite) the feature to mobile order food and beverage. You'll also be visiting during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort and there should be a handy digital guide to all of the spooktacular festivities in the app.

Sheryl, I hope this has been helpful as you are getting ready for your visit. Here's wishing you a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
