My sister and I are visiting WDW in December and I was wondering if a dining plan was worth it for just two people? Neither of us eat a lot, and we can usually do well splitting meals. Thanks!

Hey there, Aubrie! I'm so glad you came by with your question.

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way for a lot of families to budget for their meals while they are at Walt Disney World. They have a good idea ahead of time about what they are spending on food, and it takes away some of the guess work. Other people just like to have it paid for in advance, so they have one less thing on their "plate" when they actually get to Disney World.

In terms of whether or not it's worth it for two people - I would say the number of people doesn't matter as much as how much those two people eat. The plans do provide a lot of food at each meal, plus snacks and drinks. For some people, especially lighter eaters like yourselves, it may not be worth getting the plan if you usually split meals anyway. We find for our family, we end up with extra snack credits at the end because we just weren't hungry enough to use them during our stay. They don't go to waste, as we always use them up with snacks we can pack and take home before we check out, but in terms of whether or not it's "worth it", for us, it usually isn't.

I also want to point out, though, that some people find with the dining plan in place, they eat at more restaurants they might not have otherwise tried. That might put some "spice" into your dining experiences while you are at Walt Disney World.

Have a wonderful time planning, Aubrie!
