Walt Disney World Resort visit will be here faster than you can jump back in time, so let's look at how the
Virtual Queue works for one of my favorite attractions,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
As long as you have a theme park ticket that's valid for use on that day and linked to your My Disney Experience account, you should be able to sign into the
mobile app and join the virtual queue from anywhere at 7:00 AM EST. I joined the virtual queue for this attraction from my home, which is a few hours away from EPCOT! I made it to the park in time to join my boarding group and save the galaxy, which worked out well for everyone!
I have a couple of scenarios to consider, though. If you chose a usage date when purchasing your theme park ticket, you won't need an
EPCOT theme park reservation to join the virtual queue. If you're using a non-date-based ticket, such as an annual pass or military ticket, you must have a
theme park reservation for EPCOT to join the virtual queue.
There is no need to have used the ticket or be inside the parks to join the virtual queue, but I have some tips. Set your alarm before 7:00 AM so you can locate the correct queue and confirm your party in the mobile app. Tap the "Refresh" button at the bottom, and as soon as that button turns blue and changes to "Join Virtual Queue," tap it quickly! Every second counts. My final tip is to remember to tap the blue "Done" button if you're assigned a boarding group and take a screenshot of your group number in case you run into any pesky space pirates.
Finally, be sure your sister is linked to your
Family & Friends on your account. That way, you can add her to your virtual queue party, and you'll be assigned the same boarding group and return time.
This attraction is so unique and fabulous! I'm crossing my intergalactic toes and tentacles so that you'll successfully join the queue. You'll be dancing across space and time before you know it!
