Hi there, Heather, and welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for coming to us with your question and a very happy early birthday to you and your sister! I love hearing that you both will be visiting the Disneyland Resort together. What a wonderful way to celebrate your special day and the bond that you share with each other.
The
Disneyland website updates its
Daily Schedule which includes Closed for Refurbishment information along with Park Hours and the Entertainment Schedule six weeks in advance, so you're already looking in the right place. By the time you read this response, the week of August 19 will be only a day or so from beginning to show up, so I would recommend checking the Schedule again throughout the week. It looks like most of the closures have to do with the transformation of
Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the
Haunted Mansion. I'd also recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog for any big announcements on major attraction openings.
It'll be an important week as well because August 23, 2024 marks the official beginning of the
Halloween Season at the Disneyland Resort! It's my favorite time of year and I love seeing all the spooky decorations go up in both Parks.
I hope you both will sport complimentary "I'm Celebrating" buttons so others can share the joy of your birthday! It's really heartwarming to see other Guests and Cast Members spontaneously making someone's day with a "Happy Birthday." I just returned from a visit to the Parks with my sister and her family. We had such a great time and it was a chance to bring us closer together in this busy world of ours. I hope it does the same for you.
Heather, please come on back anytime you have more questions for us. You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you again. Have a wonderful month of un-birthdays and a very magical birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
