Ahoy there, David.
Yo ho, yo ho, a Disney life for you! You're about to set sail on a magical Walt Disney World Resort adventure with your family in just a matter of days! Can you believe you'll get to experience all the EARidescent excitement of
The World's Most Magical Celebration AND the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival on your trip? Dreams really do come true!
I am sorry to hear of your sister-in-law's condition and send warm wishes for a recovery that's faster than Dash Parr from
The Incredibles. Perhaps you can bring her back a bit of the magic in the form of a thoughtful souvenir to cheer her up. I imagine the excitement you're feeling leading up to your departure is mixed with a bit of sadness that the whole family won't get to go together as planned. I hope you can still find joy on your trip in spite of this unfortunate situation.
Fortunately, there is some flexibility for
theme park tickets in situations like your sister-in-law's. If she knows when she might return to Walt Disney World Resort again, she can always change the dates on her ticket to align with the dates of a future trip as long as she does so before the original start date of her ticket. She may have to pay for any difference in ticket prices, if applicable. If she linked her ticket through her My Disney Experience account, she will need to follow the steps below to change the dates on her ticket. If you are managing her profile from your My Disney Experience account and were the one to link her ticket, then you will be the one who needs to do this.
- Click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner on the home screen in your My Disney Experience App. Select "Tickets & Passes" from the options that appear and scroll through to find your ticket. You should see an option to modify the dates of your ticket below its details.
- From a browser, log in to your My Disney Experience account and go to your "My Plans" page. Scroll down to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and click on "Tickets & Memory Maker." You should see your ticket listed here. If you click on your ticket, it should present the option to change the dates of the ticket.
If your sister-in-law does not have a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort in the foreseeable future, her best bet is to reach out to the helpful Guest Services Cast Members at (407) 939-1936. They will be able to walk her through her options and answer any questions she might have.
David, again, I am so sorry your sister-in-law won't be able to join you. I hope this information proves helpful, but please stop back by planDisney if we can be of further service. Have a wonderful vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Off to Neverland,
Alyssa
