Jeff from CO Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My sister is a Florida resident. Can she buy my kid’s tickets with her discount and not go along with us? Or would she have to buy a ticket for herself and go as well?

Hey there, Jeff! Thank you very much for your question.

The Florida resident ticket prices offer nice little savings over the regular ticket price. I'm all about saving money that I can then use on Mickey ice cream bars and Minnie ears. The tickets are exclusively available to those who can show proof of Florida residency, but folks who are Florida residents may gift those tickets to their grandchildren, nieces, nephews - anyone under the age of 18. Once a ticket holder is over 18, they must also show proof of Florida residence.

Although proof of residency can now be done digitally through the My Disney Experience app, when the tickets are activated at the theme park, the person with the Florida ID will need to be there. Your sister wouldn't need to buy a ticket for herself, as you can activate the tickets at guest services or at the ticket window going into the park. Once that's done, she could go home, but she might also take the opportunity to make some magical memories there with your kids!

I hope you guys have the best time on your upcoming trip, Jeff!
