Hi! My sister & I would like to do our first runDisney race. We are thinking to start with the Princess 5K. Do you know when dates will be released for 2019? Thanks! Kelly

    Hi Kelly!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I cannot think of a better runDisney event for a sister weekend than the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend! It's all about the glitter, tutus and major girl power!

The cadence for runDisney events at Walt Disney World right now is that registration will open up approximately 11 months or so in advance. Based on this, I'd estimate that registration should open in April, but this past year, the registration opened on May 2, 2017 for the race so it's not a definitive window.

For the actual dates of the race, Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend has historically been the last weekend in February which would make the 2019 race February 21-24th, but this is subject to change. I'd certainly expect to have a 2019 date by the 2018 race. I'd also be on the lookout for more information to come during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend this fall. It has happened in the past that a new schedule for upcoming events and registration often sneak their way into the Digital Event Guide!

I wish I could give you more concrete information, but the folks at runDisney like to keep us runners on our toes and keep things exciting! Please let me know if you have any other questions as your planning continues for your runcation.
