I am a single parent planning to visit Disney World with my 4 yr old son who will require a stroller. I am planning to bring my own. Can I leave it at ride entries and expect to find it upon our return? It is somewhat expensive but still lightweight.

I have brought $250 MacLaren strollers to WDW many times and never had a problem. We very much preferred having our own strollers with us to renting the Disney ones. Although I'm not naive enough to think that a stroller theft has never happened at WDW, I personally have never heard of a stroller being stolen there (and I've talked to a lot of Disney guests). Everyone just leaves their strollers at the stroller-parking areas of shows and at the ride entrance areas.

While I highly doubt that anything would happen to your stroller, it is very likely that a cast member will move it at some point. For example, it is fairly routine at some rides (the Kilimanjaro Safari for example) for the cast member attendants at the stroller parking area to rearrange the strollers to make them fit in the space better. If your stroller is not exactly where you left it, don't panic. Just look around for a cast member and they'll point out where they moved it.

My friend Darcie on the Moms Panel had a suggestion that if you were super-concerned about your stroller, you could buy some sort of a lock that would lock the wheels together, thus making it less attractive to potential theft. You are not allowed to lock your stroller to any Disney property.

    Hope this helps.
