Thanks for the great question, Christy! I totally understand you feeling overwhelmed. I must admit I was very nervous the first time I brought my daughter to Disney World without family or friends. Rest assured that the feeling went away quickly though.
The set-up at Pop Century is such that no building is an unmanageable distance. That said, I would recommend requesting a room in either the 50s, 60s or 70s sections to be closest to the main pool, Classic Hall, and the bus stops. Note that 60s rooms are preferred, and have an additional charge of approximately $15 per night plus tax.
Disney cast members are there to help, and be sure to take them up on it, whether it's carrying your tray to your table at a counter service or carrying your bags to your room. A few other recommendations:
- Get to the parks at opening and take advantage of the early Extra Magic Hours, where you can enjoy less crowds in the theme parks.
- Take in a character meal - your daughter will love the one on one character interaction.
-Don't be shy to ask people to take your pictures so you can both be in the shots. Either use the
photopass service, or ask the photopass photographers to take pictures with your camera.
- If you are going to enjoy table service dining, be sure to reserve in advance, so you can avoid waiting for a table. Call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) before leaving.
- To avoid line ups at check-in, I would also use the new
on-line registration service. We were there last week, and the re was no line-up at the on-line check-in.
- Relax, and enjoy all the magic Disney has to offer. You're creating beautiful memories.
Please write back if you have any other questions as you continue to plan this magical holiday for you and your daughter.
