Hello, I am a single dad, with a 11 your old son, and this will be our first trip to Dinsey World. Can anybody recommend a first time resort? On a budget. Want my son's first time memorable, so dont want to go to one of the lower end resorts? Any ideas?

Hi, William!  I can't imagine with this being your first magical trip with your son that he'll care much about the resort you choose, but you have a lot to choose from!

The value resorts, which are the "lower end resorts", are actually great fun for kids this age.  All Star Sports has giant sports icons, including a lifesize foosball game!  The brand new Art of Animation resort is so amazingly themed, and an 11 year old  boy might like the Cars section.

Caribbean Beach Resort, which is a moderate resort, has an awesome pool area, with a pirate ship splash zone.  There are, for an added something special, pirate themed rooms at this resort that many kids love.

My girls also love Pop Century, which is a value resort.  You'll find icons there that include giant Rubik's Cubes, but I'm pretty sure they love it for the tie-dyed cheesecake at the food court.

If you want to cut corners in other areas and splurge on a room, look into a savannah view at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  There's just something amazing waking up and maybe seeing a giraffe right outside your window.

I hope this gives you some ideas of where to start!
