Hi there, Patricia! Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks so much for cruising by with your question!
Fish Extender Exchanges are such a fun, unofficial tradition on
Disney Cruise Line! They’re organized by guests and are a great way to sprinkle some extra pixie dust throughout your voyage. A Fish Extender is usually a hanging organizer with pockets, one for each person in your stateroom, and it goes right on the fish (or seahorse) hook outside your door. My boys absolutely loved coming back to the room to find little surprises waiting in ours!
Most Fish Extender groups are coordinated through Facebook these days, which makes finding one without it a bit tricky, but not impossible! One place you might want to try is the DISboards forum. It’s actually where the whole Fish Extender idea got its start! You can search for a thread that matches your specific sailing (for example, “Disney Magic – May 2025”), and if you don’t see one, you can even start your own. Sometimes cruisers use tools like Google Forms to organize participants.
Another option is the Cruise Critic message boards. Head to the Disney Cruise Line Roll Call section and search for your cruise. You’ll likely need to create a free account, but it’s another way to connect with fellow passengers. At the heart of it, these exchanges are all about fostering camaraderie and making connections. So have fun with the process, and don’t worry too much about making it perfect.
Wishing you smooth sailing, Patricia! If you have any other questions as you plan, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to help!
Warmly,
Eean
