Hi Jordan!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm happy to lend a hand with your questions about
Disney's Disability Access Service (DAS) at the magical Walt Disney World Resort.
Walt Disney World understands that some park guests might need a little extra help to dive into the fun of theme park attractions and shows. That's where DAS comes into play, making sure guests who find it difficult to wait in conventional queues due to a disability have another way to join in. I've got a family member who benefits from this too, and it's been a game-changer for us – it means no one has to miss out on the fun.
Disney offers a convenient way to register for DAS in advance through a live video chat with a Cast Member. This service allows you and your party to discuss your needs and register for DAS before your park visit. You can start this process up to 30 days in advance but no less than 2 days prior to your arrival. Unfortunately, at this time, the pre-arrival video chat is unavailable outside of the U.S., so it's one planning step you'll need to wait until you're stateside to take care of.
No need to worry - getting registered for DAS at Walt Disney World's theme parks is usually pretty quick and easy. Once you enter your first theme park, head straight to
Guest Relations. The team there is awesome and will walk you through getting registered. Don't forget to ask about setting up two DAS Advance return times for any park days that are at least two days away. Once you're approved and you're all set up for DAS, you'll be able to use the DAS self-selection tool on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to book additional attractions. Your DAS is good for 60 days, so there's plenty of time to soak up all the Disney magic!
I hope this helps with your planning and preparations for your upcoming Disney vacation!
