Hi my siblings and I (all early 20s) will be going to WDW April 22-May 1, 2020. With the construction going on what will be open at this time (especially in Epcot) and what will be closed? Is there a list or guide somewhere to help with this?

Hi there, Sienna! We're so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think it's fantastic that you're planning a trip with your siblings to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Last month, I invited my sister to spend a couple of days with me at Walt Disney World Resort, and it was her first visit in almost 30 years. We both fondly remember our trip with our dad in 1990. Let's just say, she was blown away by how much has changed since then!

Last weekend's D23 Expo included major announcements about the multi-year transformation of Epcot. According to Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, the new Epcot will be "more Disney, more family, more timely and more relevant." With this change come a few closures, such as the beloved Fountain of Nations, Club Cool, Innoventions, and the long-running fireworks show, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Spaceship Earth is also slated for a rehaul, but no date has been announced. The best place to get updates on refurbishments and closures during your trip is the Disney Parks Blog as well as internet sites like allears.net.

However, 2020 ushers in some exciting new additions to Epcot. You'll be there in time for the debut of the new World Showcase CircleVision 360 movie, "Canada Far and Wide," as well as "Awesome Planet," coming to the Land Pavillion. IllumiNations will be replaced by Epcot Forever, followed by the spectacular, HarmoniUS, but it remains to be seen what version will be showing during your trip. The France pavilion will also offer a "Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along" in January 2020. And the highly anticipated restaurant, Space 220, will be taking reservations for its winter of 2019 opening, soon.

Some other exciting happenings you'll get to experience are Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios this spring, and the soon to open Disney Skyliner transportation system. You and your brothers and sisters will get to travel to a galaxy far, far away at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Definitely make your reservations now for Oga's Cantina, which would be a fun watering hole for a family gathering!

Sienna, I hope your 2020 family trip is filled with pixie dust and magic! Come back and see us again soon!
