Hi moms! What can you share about the Savor the Savannah experience at Animal Kingdom? What animals do you get to see up close? How long is it? What kind of food is there? Thanks!

Jambo, Karin! Thank you for stopping by with this question. The Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience is a great way to discover more about the animals of the Harambe Wildlife Reserve while enjoying a one-of-a-kind adventure in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. This premium tour offering recently began its evening journeys with Guests, so I have not had a chance to experience it yet, but we are looking forward to hopping aboard soon!

Guests are given a personalized tour of the Harambe Wildlife Reserve in customized guide vehicles, most of which you do see as part of the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction. This tour differs from the regular attraction in that you are able to get closer to many of the animals and observe them for a longer period in their habitat, including giraffes, elephants, lions, gazelle, and many more. Each tour is limited to 12 Guests and is guided by a very knowledgeable Cast Member, who shares more intriguing information on the animals. This setup does allow for questions and discussions on the wildlife. The tour vehicle does stop at private viewing areas, one of which will be set up for the meal. The menu usually consists of African-style bread with olive oil, spiced nuts, an array of tapas-style entrees, and a dessert. The Cast Member I spoke with mentioned tapas consisting of shrimp, chicken salad, ham, salmon with cream cheese, and hummus. Nonalcoholic beverages, as well as wine and beer, are served. Overall, the tour tends to last approximately two hours.

Be sure to take a look at the very important tour information on the website I linked above. I hope this information helps you plan your excursion, Karin. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
