Ahoy there, Ashley!
Welcome aboard planDisney and thanks for bringing your question to us. I’m so excited that you are about to embark on your first
Disney Cruise Line cruise! I remember planning for my first Disney cruise and all the questions I had about what to pack, what to expect and, just like you, what to wear! So, let’s get you and your group ready to set sail!
In checking on the January 28 sailing of the Disney Fantasy, I see you are in for some incredible adventures, including a
Pixar Day at Sea. It will be a rootin’, tootin’ good time!
In general, I suggest that you wear whatever you are comfortable in during the day and then change into something fresh for the evening. For your specific itinerary, here are some suggestions on what else to pack:
Saturday in Port Canaveral - Cruise Casual Attire.
Sunday at Sea- Pixar Day at Sea, Cruise Casual Attire. I suggest something with your favorite Pixar Pal in mind for the Character Encounters.
Monday in Cozumel - Formal Night. Some Guests dress to the nines and others dress more casually. You do you! If you participate in a Port Adventure, check the specific “what to bring” instructions.
Tuesday in Grand Cayman - Cruise Casual Attire. Again, check the specifics of Port Adventures.
Wednesday in Falmouth - Cruise Casual Attire. Again, check the specifics of Port Adventures.
Thursday at Sea - Semi-Formal Night. You do you!
Friday at Castaway Cay - Cruise Casual Attire. You'll want a bathing suit, cover-up, sandals and sunscreen (towels are provided).
Now, Ashley, I could go on and on about tips for a first-time cruiser, but these will get you started!
Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, which is your portal for all your pre-cruise planning and even checking in for your cruise. Once you board the ship, check your Navigator app to view a more detailed itinerary which will help you decide exactly what to wear and when.
You can also set reminders for the events and activities you are interested in each day. You will receive a reminder in the app about 15 minutes prior to the event, so you can make your way there. Just follow the handy deck maps in the app to help get your bearings.
Ashley, with all the excitement of your first cruise, you'll want to partake in all
the activities, experience all the entertainment, and eat all the food, especially the
Pixar-themed eats and treats! With a crew the size of yours, it's ok to go your separate ways sometimes so everyone can experience their most Joy-filled moments and then meet back up to share all the stories! If I don’t get to experience everything I was hoping to on my cruise, I take it as a nudge to book another cruise!
Please let us know if you have any other questions as you prepare for your fantasy-filled vacation. You’ve got a friend in

Wishing you smooth sailing,
Shannon
