Hi Kathleen. Welcome to planDisney!
It’s an honor to help you with your
Walt Disney World vacation planning. Since
Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center Resort reserved for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, their families, and select others, let me start by thanking you or your family members for their service and sacrifice.
Although I am not qualified to stay at Shades of Green, my personal experience with the resort is limited. However, I’m thrilled to share what I do know! Shades of Green is a fantastic place to stay, nestled in a serene setting surrounded by two incredible golf courses, the
Palm and the
Magnolia. It offers peaceful accommodations just steps from the excitement of Walt Disney World.
I can share from the resort’s website that
standard rooms include two queen beds, a sleeper sofa, a small refrigerator, an in-room safe, an ironing board, and free Wi-Fi. After doing some YouTube research, I discovered that the standard rooms feature single-cup coffee makers. While they aren’t the Keurig-style machines you might be familiar with, they use the small circular coffee filters common in many hotels. If you do an online search for the “Cuisinart 2-Cup Coffeemaker,” you’ll see a similar style to the one shown in the videos I found. While I couldn’t locate where to purchase those specific coffee pods, don’t worry! Housekeeping can provide refills upon request, so you’ll always have that much-needed caffeine boost.
If you prefer to wait until you’ve checked in to confirm the exact coffee maker model, you could use an online grocery delivery service to bring the correct coffee pods directly to your room. Bell Services will hold your items until you’re ready to pick them up. This is a great way to stock up on snacks, beverages, and anything else you might need during your stay. And if you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix or a tasty pastry, Java Café at the resort is an excellent spot to visit.
While Shades of Green doesn’t offer the Resort Refillable Mug program, you could purchase one from a nearby
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. These mugs allow unlimited refills of coffee, tea, or soda at any Disney Resort hotel, which could be handy during your adventures!
Thank you again for your family’s service and dedication. If you’d like help planning your itinerary, selecting must-see attractions, or securing dining reservations, I’d be delighted to offer recommendations. Whether it’s navigating the best use of
Lightning Lane passes, planning your park days, or finding dining experiences to suit your group,
please don’t hesitate to reach out again.
Respectfully,
Brent
