I have several pods that I’ve purchased over several years to go in the bracelets .. none are the + how do I know if they still work

    Welcome to planDisney, Wanda!

I also have several of my older MagicBands, I loved reusing the ones that were themed to first visits or special celebrations. Once upon a time, we even decorated a small Christmas tree with older MagicBands!

Since I was reminiscing about my MagicBands, I went into the My Disney Experience app and visited the  “MagicBands & Cards” section under “Account.” If you click on the “…” next to your name, you’ll see a list of how many MagicBand+, MagicBands, and Admission Cards are linked to your profile. I can see that I have a few MagicBands linked to my account, but unfortunately they don’t show a current battery level like the MagicBand+ section has. I noticed that a few bands showed a status of “Activated, Ready to Use” and some of the older bands did not have that information. Unfortunately, because there is no way to check the battery status of these MagicBands, you won’t know if they work until you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. If you are staying at a Disney Resort, the first thing you can do is try to unlock your Resort room door with your MagicBand. You can also visit a Guest Relations window outside the theme parks and ask them to test your MagicBand before you try to use it at the admission touchpoints.

If your older MagicBand doesn’t work, you have a few options, Wanda! You can purchase a MagicBand+ at most shopping locations. There’s a wide variety of designs, I’m sure you’ll find something you love. And you’ll get to enjoy the new features of the MagicBand+, like interacting with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection in the theme parks! Another option is to set up a Disney MagicMobile Pass in your digital wallet. From your My Disney Experience app, visit “Set Up MagicMobile Entry” under “Account” and follow the instructions. You’ll be able to use the MagicMobile Pass to enter the theme parks, tap in to Lightning Lanes, and collect Disney PhotoPass photos. You can also use the My Disney Experience app to unlock your Disney Resort room

I hope this points you in the right direction, Wanda. If you have any more questions as you continue to prepare for your vacation, please come back and see me at planDisney!
