Hello there, Jason, and welcome to planDisney!
I loved seeing your question come through because I'm a tech nerd and I'm always happy when the wizards at Disney release new wearable devices that improve convenience, fun, and our quality of life during Park visits. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when the Disney Parks Blog announced that
MagicBand+ was coming to the Disneyland Resort!
I'm sorry to hear that you were having issues with your wife's
MagicBand+, however. It sounds like you did everything correctly, though, and I suspect that you're running into an inherent limiting feature of the MagicBand+. You see, each MagicBand+ may only be linked to one account and one ticket at a time. Since you had linked your wife's ticket to the Band in question, it is then only accessible on your phone, since you are the account holder. It was linked to the correct ticket and would have functioned perfectly in all other respects. It just wasn't accessible by another account holder (i.e., your wife). In order to remedy this, simply unlink it from your account and re-link it to your wife's account on her phone (here are the
instructions) and you should be all set to go!
Since your visit is coming up very soon, it looks like you'll be in that sweet intersection where the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival and Season of the Force will be going on at the same time! How exciting! They actually just released the
Foodie Guide for Season of the Force but if more traditional fare is more to your taste, I encourage you to try out the kiosks for Food & Wine! I'm sure you'll find plenty to love!
Jason, I hope that this response was helpful for you right before your trip! If you have any further questions, feel free to write back anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you. Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
