Ahoy, Wayne!
It sure sounds like you have a very special voyage planned aboard the Disney Wonder with your grandchildren! Your grandson will always remember the magical place he turned sixteen surrounded by the ones who loved him most! It will be a momentous vacation for sure!
I'm glad you asked this question because you don't want any unexpected surprises when your crew disembarks the ship once your cruise is over. I confirmed with Disney Cruise Line that your grandson will ONLY need to show an original or copy of his state-issued birth certificate (if not traveling with a valid
U.S. Passport) during both embarkation and debarkation since he turns 16 after the start of the cruise. If he were to turn 16 before the cruise, he would be required to have both his birth certificate and government-issued photo ID or a valid U.S. Passport to set sail.
Wayne, I'm so glad you are taking advantage of having the
Disney Wonder back in
Galveston, Texas this fall! This classic beauty has been re-imagined so you'll enjoy seeing the enhancements including a dining experience like no other at
Tiana's Place and the newest show to debut aboard Disney Cruise Line,
Frozen, A Musical Spectacular! You're going to love both!
We are so glad you cruised by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If we can assist you with any other questions, please let us know!
Happy Planning!
Nancy
