We are set to sail on the Disney Dream next week, Jan 2-5th. I know you get tons of questions about the weather. But, do you have any advice on what to actually pack? Do you think I need everything from shorts to a coat? I get cold very easily. Thanks

Carrie, your cruise is coming up so soon! How exciting! This time next week, you'll be enjoying the beautiful Disney Dream!

I've sailed with Disney in January for the past two years and have had great weather each time. Of course, you'll want to check the weather for the Bahamas a day or two before you set sail to confirm, but you can expect low 80's for highs and mid to upper 70's for lows. That being said, I, too, get chilly very easily, so while I pack summer-type clothes (swim suits, shorts, tank tops, light dresses) for days at the pool and the beach, I also pack a few light sweaters or a jacket, and longer dress pants or a dress with a matching sweater for evenings. The nights at sea out on the deck of the ship can be breezy and cool, so you'll want an extra layer. And I tend to feel cool in the theaters and in the restaurants as well, so a light sweater is always in my bag just in case.

I was happy to discover a few years ago that Disney offers blankets out on the pool deck, most specifically in the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool area, should you feel cool out on deck. If you don't see them in the clean towel bins, ask one of the Cast Members and they can get one for you. It's great to lay out on a deck chair with a good book and watch the waves go by, but if there's a chill, it's no fun. So, a blanket and a cup of specialty coffee from Cove Cafe are a great remedy! You can imagine your friends back home in chilly Tennessee as you enjoy the view in the Bahamas!

Have so much fun when you set sail next week, Carrie!
