Welcome aboard, Raychelle! Only a couple more weeks until you head out to sea on your very first sailing aboard the Disney Magic!
Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to your mobile devices before you arrive at port. This app includes the schedule of events, a ship map, character greeting times, menus, a texting feature to use with other friends and family onboard, and so much more. It is free to use this app on the DCL-GUEST WiFi network onboard. If you're wanting to use the WiFi network for anything online other than the app, you'll need to purchase a data package onboard. But, here's a little hint! The first day, as you check in at the port, you'll receive a paper version of the Personal Navigator newsletter. On the back page, there is usually a first day only offer of a free 50 MB package for the stateroom to share. That's always been enough for me to check in on my email a couple times, share a photo with friends back home, and send a few texts. Other than that, I try to "unplug" when we set sail, because that's so hard to do back home. But, I know many guests love to have more internet access than the 50 MB allows, so there are plenty of
data package options.
Disney used to allow guests to leave an item at Guest Services to be signed by the characters, but that is no longer the case. They now encourage guests to attend the fun Meet and Greets with their favorite Disney characters that occur every day throughout the sailing. It's so fun to interact with the characters and take photos to remember those magical memories There are autograph books for sale onboard, or you can purchase at
Disneystore.com before you head out to sea!
I hope the next two weeks fly by before you set sail, Raychelle!
