Service dogs-do I need to tell ahead of time if staying at the resort?

    Hello, Tasha!

Your Walt Disney World adventure is just around the corner and it sounds like you’ll be traveling with your loyal service dog. Pluto will be so excited!

All Walt Disney World Resort hotels welcome service dogs that are individually trained to perform specific tasks for their humans. For all the important details, be sure to check out the Services for Guests with Service Animals webpage. You’ll find that Walt Disney World is well-prepared to accommodate your four-legged co-pilot. To ensure the smoothest experience, I recommend contacting Disney Resort Hotel Reservations before your visit so they can make sure everything is ready for your furry friend.

Fun fact: Your service dog is welcome to join you on any attraction without a height requirement...except for Peter Pan’s Flight. Apparently, pixie dust and pup paws don’t mix when it comes to evacuation procedures! For attractions with height requirements, portable kennels are typically available, or you can take advantage of Rider Switch so no one misses out on the fun.

I hope this helps with your planning! If you have more questions, fetch us here at planDisney, we love to help!

    Pawsitively magical wishes,
    Anne

Meet the Panelist: Anne, Iowa

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother.  One of my favorite things to do is to travel with multi-generational groups. I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures. Learn More About Anne
