Hiya, Shelley! Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your awesome question. The only thing better than visiting your
favorite place with your favorite people is having a big reason to celebrate!
The first thing that comes to mind is the celebration buttons, which are a popular tradition. Of course, the birthday boy and girl each get a birthday button, but I’d also get an “I’m Celebrating” button for everyone in your family that has their name on it. I’m also a firm believer that you can wear the celebration buttons in the days adjacent to the actual day. Think of it more as a birthday week. You can pick these buttons up from the friendly cast member who helps you check in at the Disneyland Hotel as soon as you arrive!
Disneyland Resort offers special experiences you can reserve in advance. If you have a table service reservation for a special meal, the restaurant may offer a
celebration cake that can be served after your meal! Check the Disneyland website to
see which restaurants offer cakes, and get ready to blow the candles out! Disneyland Hotel also offers
in-room celebration packages that will really bring some extra magic to the room. You must have a reservation in place when you order the package. Just
call and speak to a friendly cast member to make all the arrangements.
No matter what you plan or reserve in advance, be sure to capture the magical moments with the birthday kid and the birthday kid-at-heart.
PhotoPass Service is a great way to enjoy professional photos at your favorite spots in the parks. Another touch that I see many large family vacation groups do is having t-shirts made before traveling to the parks. That could really put the finishing touch on the multi-generation celebration. Lastly,
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is another magical experience that the little princess would enjoy on her special day.
Keep in mind, reservations for all the suggestions above open 60 days before your day, which would be Friday, August 21, 2026. Some restaurants and experiences will be booked solid pretty quickly, so mark your calendar and be ready and logged in at 6:00 am Pacific Time.
Shelley, I hope you and your family have a wonderful trip and that the two celebrating their birthdays experience all the magic that
Disneyland Resort has to offer. If you need more tips, tricks, or suggestions, come on back to
planDisney. We’re here for you!
I hope you have a magical day.
Corey
