Hi, Lloyd! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There are two things in this world that I’m willing to get up before dawn for: one is a
runDisney race, and the other is a chance to visit
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before the sun rises at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While my family and I are definitely night owls rather than early birds, we are looking forward to the
extra, Extra Magic Hours offered to
Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests this fall.
Unfortunately, I was able to verify that the
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter will continue to open at its usual time of 6 a.m. this Fall. For this reason, I would recommend stopping by prior to its closing the night before your early morning wake-up call to pick up some
grab-and-go breakfast items like pastries, muffins or danishes. (Personally, I think Mickey-shaped Beignets sound like a pretty good breakfast!) You’ll have access to a single-serve Cuisinart coffee maker in your room, so you’ll be able to brew a cup of coffee or two before you walk out the door.
As for the buses, you are correct about the 5:15 a.m. departure.
Walt Disney World Bus Service begins 45 minutes prior to
Theme Park opening, so you can expect the first bus to leave at 5:15 on those extra, Extra Magic Hours days. They will continue to depart at approximately 20-minute intervals.
While we haven’t received official word about potential early opening times for
restaurants in the Theme Parks during these extra, Extra Magic Hours, I would recommend checking the
Walt Disney World Resort website as you get closer to your departure date to see what time you’ll be able to grab a cup of Starbucks at
The Trolley Car Cafe or a Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich at
Sleepy Hollow. I’d also recommend staying tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for more official announcements as we get closer to the beginning of extra, Extra Magic Hours on Sept. 1.
In the meantime, please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with, Lloyd! We hope to see you real soon.
Amy
