Welcome to planDisney, Bev. Thanks for reaching out to me!
While Magic Kingdom Park has historically always been my favorite of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks,
EPCOT is quickly starting to take over. And you're planning on visiting in October of this year, which means the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be running. This festival runs from August 29th to November 23rd, 2024, and has some amazing options throughout the park. It typically has the most food booths, called "Global Marketplaces," of all EPCOT festivals. And while I don't have any insider information, I have a sneaking suspicion that there are going to be some great offerings at this year's festival with the recent opening of
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza. Stay tuned to
Disney Parks Blog for announcements leading up to your trip!
As long as you are planning to visit the theme parks for at least 2 days, you can book a vacation package through the booking tool on the website. This will include your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation and your tickets. You can even add a
dining plan if you'd like. Let's walk you through it:
1.)
Visit the "Explore Resort Hotels" page and input your intended dates and how many people are in your party.
2.) Look through the available resorts. Since you are planning to visit EPCOT specifically, I would highly recommend
Disney's BoardWalk Inn,
Disney's Beach Club Resort, or
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. These resorts are within walking distance of EPCOT and they are all fabulous! Plus, you have the whole of
Disney's BoardWalk to explore with its delightful restaurants and entertainment options!
3.) Once you've decided on your hotel, select the room type you'd like. Look through the pictures and the amenities and select what speaks to you.
4.) Select the number of days you'd like to visit the theme parks. On this page, you'll also be asked to select your ticket type. Read through the options and see which one best fits your needs. If you are only visiting EPCOT and don't want the ability to hop to another park, the Base Ticket will likely be enough. You can also select a dining plan should you want one (not required).
5.) Follow the prompts to complete your booking.
Bev, I know that you said "1-2 days" in your question, but trust me, you'll want to spend at least 2 days in EPCOT. However, if you
do decide you only want to spend 1 day in the theme parks, you would need to book a hotel room stay and a
theme park ticket separately. But between the festival, the standard offerings, World Showcase, and all the other neighborhoods of EPCOT, there's so much to see and do, you won't be sorry for spending more time in this magical place.
