Hello I am sending my parents who are limited in their ability to walk far places - they will be staying at Saratoga Springs. What is the easiest means of traveling to hotels located on the monorail?

    Hi Lisa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How lovely that you are sending your parents on a Walt Disney World Vacation. Here’s to hoping my kids grow up to be as generous as you!

First, I want to be sure you know that Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is a very large resort. If your parent’s have mobility issues I have a few suggestions. First, I would request a room close to a bus stop in The Springs area. This is the most central area of the resort and is closest to the main pool and dining areas. Being closer to a bus stop will decrease the amount of walking needed to get to transportation.

They may want to consider renting an Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). These can be rented in the theme parks and Downtown Disney area for day use, or you can use one of Disney’s Featured Providers to rent an ECV for the length of stay of your parents’ trip. Check out this information page for more details. ECV's can be accommodated on resort busses, the Monorail and some boat services.

To get to the Monorail Resorts from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, your parents would need to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom, they would then either hop on the Resort Monorail or they could take a water taxi to either Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Once at one of the resorts, they can utilize the Resort Monorail to travel from one resort hotel to the next. Alternately, taking a taxi is always the fastest option with the least amount of walking.

I hope this is helpful information. If there are any additional questions we can help you with as you plan this vacation for your parents, please let us know. We love to help!

    Have a Disney Day,
