Can I send packages to my Resort before I arrive? And if they do arrive before me, is there a fee to be paid? Also, is there a limit of time that Disney storages the package? Is there a package size limit?

    Hiya Michelle,

Welcome to planDisney! I love that you are planning a holiday visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth (Mele Kalikimaka in advance). There's something about the incredible decorations, exclusive treats, parties, and festivals that puts you in the holiday spirit. I've been reading and saving all the Disney Parks Blog posts about the holidays, and I cannot wait to experience all the magic that is planned.

Let's help get you in the holiday mood by clarifying some of those logistical things off your plate. Before I moved to Florida, we often thought about shipping diapers to our resort hotel to avoid stuffing them in our suitcases (we ended up doing grocery delivery instead, which is an option for you). So, Michelle, good news: you can mail packages to yourself as long as they don't arrive sooner than one week before your check-in date at your resort hotel. So your packages can arrive anytime between Saturday, December 5th, and your check-in date. When I spoke to a Cast Member, they mentioned there isn't a specific size limit for those packages, but they should be reasonably sized. Packages are intended to conserve luggage space, so you don't want to ship something unusually large, for example. Now about price, you will incur a handling fee for each package you ship. In my experience, the price is less than $10 per package, but the price is subject to change. I also want to note that this per-package handling fee applies even if the package arrives the same day you arrive (or after).

I hope this was helpful, Michelle. Before I let you go, here's one last tip if you are planning to ship your package to your resort hotel: When shipping, make sure you address your package correctly. Make sure each package includes the name of the Guest listed as the Lead Guest. It is also helpful to include the word "Guest" before the name. Next, include the resort name and the full mailing address (which you can find on the Resort Hotel website). I've also heard that if you have space, including your arrival date is helpful. If you need any additional help with questions about shipping or anything else related to your trip, please come back and see us. We are always here when you need us!

    Happy Planning,
