Dan from WI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I've seen online recently that people are pin trading again with cast members and not just at pin boards. They are trading with cast who have the black lanyard pin holders. Is this true and will all cast members be trading again. Thanks

Hiya, Dan! Welcome back to planDisney!

Oh boy! I'm so excited to hear that your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is only a few weeks away! It won't be long until you hop on your magic carpet and ride over to experience everything that The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration has to offer. Be sure to take some time to check out the stunning Beacons of Magic in each of the parks, which light up the nighttime landscape in magical ways!

Dan, like you, I love pin trading! There's something so special about discovering and collecting your own souvenirs. To the best of my knowledge, pin trading is currently looking a little different from how we remember it in the past. I haven't personally seen Cast Members trading pins from their lanyards during my most recent visit to Walt Disney World Resort, but I'm sending you all the faith, trust, and pixie dust for this to be fully reopened by the time you visit! There seems to be happy Disney news being released all the time, from character greetings returning (hello, warm hugs!) and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue making its grand return this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if more of the experiences that we know and love continue to come back! My best piece of advice would be to keep checking on the Disney Parks Blog, which always seems to announce these exciting updates first.

Until then, you can still engage in pin trading while visiting Walt Disney World Resort! Keep an eye out for pin trading signs in each of the parks (and even in some of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels) that will direct you to the pinboards, or you can engage in some of the new and exciting ways to trade pins! You'll also be able to ask Cast Members at most merchandise locations if they have pinboards available, or you could stop at Disney Pin Traders in Disney Springs to collect your newest souvenirs. No matter which path you choose, your pin trading adventures will be nothing short of magical!

Before you arrive, make sure that you've made your Theme Park Reservations with the Disney Park Pass system! This is the best way to reserve the parks you wish to visit on each day of your trip. And take some time to download and explore the My Disney Experience app, which will allow you to unlock everything that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. You'll be able to check wait times for attractions, view park maps, and even mobile order food. I love knowing my meals and snacks will be ready for me before I ever feel a rumbly in my tumbly!

I hope I was able to answer your question today, Dan! If anything else pops up, please visit us again. After all, you've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon!
