I’ve never seen the Electric Water Pageant at Disney World, so this trip I want to change that! If we’re not staying at a resort on Bay Lake, what’s the best place to watch? And how early should we stake out a viewing spot? Thanks for your help!

Hi there, Lindsay! Thanks for sending in another excellent question to planDisney! Since 1971, the Electrical Water Pageant has lit up the waters of Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. As the longest-running parade at Walt Disney World Resort, it is the definition of nostalgia. I'm so excited for you to finally experience it soon!

The best spots are right along the shores of Bay Lake, particularly at the monorail resorts, and you can take the monorail transportation right from Magic Kingdom Park. I recommend watching it from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, get a Dole Whip from the Pineapple Lanai, and relax on the beach (I like to sit near the boat dock by the Volcano Pool). On my last visit, the showtimes were as follows (be aware that times are subject to change without notice):
    *Disney's Polynesian Village Resort – 8:45 PM
    *Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa –  9:00 PM
    *Disney's Wilderness Lodge – 9:30 PM
*Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground – 9:45 PM
    *Disney's Contemporary Resort – 10:00 PM

There are 14 glow-in-the-dark floats, plus a new one added last year that features a castle outline with a large 50 in the middle for Walt Disney World's anniversary. My favorite segment is the American Flag & Stars floats when they play "You're a Grand Old Flag!"

I hope your trip is electrifying, Lindsay!
