Hello! It seems pretty impossible to get dining reservations right now. Do I need to physically be outside of the restaurant to add myself to the Walk-Up list? Or just in the park? Or just some place on Disney property?

Hello again, Courtney! Thanks for visiting planDisney with another question.

I make advanced dining reservations whenever our family visits Walt Disney World resort, whether it's breakfast at our Disney Resorts Collection hotel or dinner in one of the parks. It gives me peace of mind and allows our big family to have a limited wait when we're ready to eat after a busy day of fun in the parks.

All Guests are currently able to make dining reservations online up to 60 days in advance. I see that your arrival date is July 24, so you're outside of that range right now. All you need is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust (and a good internet connection) and you can make your advance dining reservations around May 25.

While reservations are strongly recommended at some dining locations, you're welcome to visit locations as a walk up. You can ask the Cast Members if there are any reservation cancelations from the night before or the day of. If there are not, the Cast Members may tell you to return around a certain time later in the day.

Be sure to download the My Disney Experience app if you have not already. My wife and I use the app when we're visiting Walt Disney World to update our plans, make dining reservations, and browse restaurant menus. During your time at Walt Disney World this summer you can continue checking availability for the dining locations you wish to visit.

I would also suggest using the My Disney Experience app for mobile food orders during your visit. The ability to order ahead and customize some menu items is convenient and efficient. After selecting a participating restaurant, you can then select your arrival time and make your food selections. You can pay for your mobile food and beverage orders using a credit card, debit card, Disney Gift Card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card, or Apple Pay.

The planDisney Panel has several Panel Extras that may also help you with your vacation plans, including dining options. Check out What Would I Order? to read our recommendations on what to order at some of our favorite Disney dining spots. We love the variety of food options throughout Walt Disney World Resort!

Courtney, please let us know if we can help you with any other questions before your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

    Have a magical day!
