Hi, Liz! Thanks for visiting us again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I just love your question! I'm a big fan of Animal Kingdom Lodge
and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! You've chosen a great time to visit Walt Disney World; after Labor Day you will enjoy fewer crowds and more pleasant touring.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is fun for guests of all ages. Every year I see plenty of couples enjoying the party experience - and many of them are in costume! In my opinion, Mickey's Boo to You! Parade and Happy HalloWishes fireworks show are THE best you will experience at any time of year at Walt Disney World Resort. One of the perks I love most about MNSSHP is the rare opportunity to meet some of my favorite Disney Villains.
MNSSHP tickets normally are available for purchase online or by phone during the month of May. The 2012 ticket prices for adults ranged from $57 to $70, depending on the date and whether you purchase in advance or on the day of the party. I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance as many party nights do sell out. Also, there is a discount for advance purchase. The party runs from 7:00 PM to midnight; however, guests with party tickets are permitted to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM to pick up their special party wristbands. If you haven't planned to spend the morning and afternoon at Magic Kingdom, this gives you an additional 3 hours to enjoy the park on a party day!
Wishing you a
magical celebration, Liz! Allow me to congratulate you in advance on your 29th wedding anniversary - that is quite a milestone! Please write back with any other questions you may think of. I'd be happy to help you plan a special anniversary dinner!
