Hi, Judy! Oh, the peaceful tranquility of
Disney's Old Key West Resort. My family has enjoyed what is really one of the most spacious and comfortably appointed resorts in the
Disney Vacation Club family.
All of the buildings at the resort are combinations of studios, 1, and 2-bedroom villas, so let them know that you want to be as close as possible, and the farthest you may be is still in the same building. They can't guarantee a request, but they certainly do try to keep guests happy when they can. I would call guest services at
1-800-800-9800 and have it noted on my reservation.
Another piece of great news is that there are bus stops pretty much scattered throughout the resort, so there's very little walking involved to get to any of the bus stops. If you book rooms near the Hospitality House, you will be near the main building and pool, where you'll find the main bus stop, the front desk,
Olivia's Cafe, and
Good's Food to Go. If you haven't booked a room near the Hospitality House, not to worry. This is usually the last bus stop at the resort, and you can hop onto the bus at your closest location and get off at Hospitality House if you don't want to walk over.
One last thing - since you are traveling with seniors who don't want to do too much walking, consider requesting buildings 62, 63, or 64. These are the only buildings with elevators, so it might make it easier for the folks with tired legs at the end of a long day.
Have a magical vacation, Judy!
