Second question - 4 1/2 twin girls - magic kingdom for 7 nights - what are some tips to keeping the girls calm and happy in hot august orlando weather, any clothing that is recommended? strollers? what is useful for a long hot day to bring with me?

    Hello, Ariela!

It may be the coolest summer ever at the Walt Disney World Resort, but it's still pretty hot temperature-wise. Even our pal Olaf needs a little help staying cool in summer! While I'd love to whip up a flurry of frozen fractals to keep your twin girls cool and comfortable during your August vacation, sadly, I do not have Elsa's magical ice powers. I'm happy to share a few of my family's go-to essentials to help you with your planning.

Stay cool with these summer essentials:
    • A small misting fan for each girl
    • Water bottles or juice boxes to keep hydrated
    • A lightweight blanket that can be used to block out the sun or placed over hot benches or pavement when you need to sit
    • Sunscreen - Bring the bottle with you and reapply often! My family and I love the Blue Lizard natural line of sunscreens for a day of exploring the Disney theme parks.
    • A stroller is a great idea, especially if it has a large umbrella cover to provide shade.
You will want to dress the girls in lightweight fabrics. Try to avoid layers or scratchy materials. My daughter likes to wear breezy dresses with open-toe shoes or sandals in the summer. It's also a good idea to bring along hats and sunglasses, as it can be difficult to find shaded areas at the parks.

I hope you and your family make many magical memories together on your vacation, Ariela! If you have any other questions before your trip, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Hope to see ya real soon!
