Hiya Robert,
Welcome to planDisney! Is there anything better than grabbing the perfect spot to watch he fireworks from? For me, any spot that combines delicious food, a place to sit, space for my little ones to run around, and unobstructed views quickly becomes my new favorite place to be.
I like where your head was at, Robert. Getting a dining reservation for
GEO-82 perfectly timed with
Luminous sounded like a great plan. I’m sorry to hear that the fireworks start time didn’t align with the way you had hoped. You ask a great question, though. Is there a timer on your reservation? I reached out to Kinga, a super-friendly Cast Member, because honestly, I wasn’t sure. The great news is no set policy defines how long you are allowed to sit at your table. That said, it is a good idea to talk to the Cast Member at the check-in stand to see what their suggestion is. There are no guarantees, but the answer of if you would be asked to move could depend on several factors, including how busy they are projected to be during that time.
I wish I could give you a more concrete answer, Robert, but I hope it was helpful. If I were in your shoes, I would check back in the
My Disney Experience mobile app the day of (and even the hours leading up to) your dining reservation. Guests are allowed to cancel or reschedule reservations
up to two hours before they are scheduled to occur, so new reservations often become available. The reservation could be closer to the fireworks start time, helping to alleviate the stress of wondering if you need to get up and find a spot outside for the show. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
