Hi there, Ray! Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Reflections - A Disney Lakeside Lodge, a nature-inspired resort, is slated to begin welcoming Guests in 2022. The resort is situated on the shores of Bay Lake, located between
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. I stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge this summer, and the area is currently an active construction zone, probably similar to what you experienced in April. I spoke with a Guest Sevices Cast Member today, and she said they have not been given a date as to when the Nature Path that connects the resorts will be open to Guests again. If I were to guess, I'd say it will be still be closed during your trip in January, but I recommend calling Guest Services at (407) 939-2273 as you get closer to your trip, since they may have more updated information by then.
I understand that this may alter your plans if you were looking forward to a morning jog to start your day. If you happen to be staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, then you can work up a sweat at the
Sturdy Branches Health Club, located in the Boulder Ridge Villas section. The fitness center is open to Guests 24 hours a day, and it is a great place to work up an appetite for all those yummy Disney snacks (I'm dreaming about a Dole Whip right now)!
One of the things I love the most about staying at a resort located on Bay Lake is the access to
water transportation, which is a relaxing alternative to the buses. Boats from the Wilderness Lodge go to
Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and can be caught at the boat dock near the Copper Creek Springs Pool. We were lucky to see the Fire Rock Geyser erupting several different times during our stay as we walked by on our way to the dock! This is also a fantastic area to watch the
Electric Water Pageant, which floats by nightly around 9:30 PM.
Ray, I hope your trip in 2020 is filled with magic! Stop back and see us again soon!
