    I have searched this site for this question, but there are conflicting answers. Wondering what the current answer is? We have been mailed our magic bands. Can we head straight to the parks before checking into our resort (we're driving from the beach)?

    Howdy Lisa!

    Driving straight to Walt Disney World from the beach sounds like my dream vacation.  You're combining two of my most favorite places in one trip. I must say I'm a little jealous, but I hope you have a great time.  

    Lisa, your MagicBands will be loaded with your park tickets and ready for use the minute you arrive at Walt Disney World. The only reasons you would need to check-in at your Resort hotel first would be if you are on the Disney Dining plan, or you would like to charge purchases to your Resort account using your MagicBand.  These items can be quickly authorized by a Cast Member at the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel.
