Hi, Benita! Walt Disney World Resort does an excellent job at making sure all guests have the ability to experience the magic of this wondrous place. Providing
wheelchairs and ECVs to guests that need them is just one of those magical touches. I spoke with
Madame Leota to see if she could conjure a specific number of available ECVs for us. She looked upon her crystal ball for a spell and gave the command, "Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween, give us the number of all ECV!" Alas, her only reply was, "Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond, there is no answer on this from the great beyond!" Oh well, the wizards and witches, wherever they dwell, gave no hint, nor rang a bell.
I can certainly how you may wish to be assured of an ECV during your days in the theme parks. There is a great deal of them available, but I have seen for myself very busy days during which there have been none to be rented. This has been late in the afternoon, so if you arrive earlier in the day, I suspect you may not have an issue with acquiring one. If you prefer to have one on hand at any time, then be sure to check out the Disney Featured Providers, who can deliver an ECV to you for use during your entire stay. If you are staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel, they can drop it off and pick it back up at Bell Services. This is super convenient and something I have personally done before when I injured my ankle just a couple of days before one of our trips. Some of the Disney Featured Providers are able to drop off rentals at area resorts and hotels if you are not staying on property. I believe Buena Vista Scooter Rentals does still have a spot on
Disney's BoardWalk for rentals, but you will have to check with them.
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question and please let us know if you have any others!
