I am scheduling my first trip to Disney in November of 2012 with my family. Is it worth it to spend the extra money on the Contemporary to be close to the monorail or just stay at the Yacht or Beach Club. The difference is significant. It is over $950.00

Hi Jennifer! What a great dilemma you have! The best thing about this kind of problem is that you win whichever choice you make! When I'm deciding on a resort, I always start by factoring in budget. Next, I consider location. If most of your time is going to spent at the Magic Kingdom and money is not a factor, then the Contemporary is for you! It's a short walk or a quick monorail ride to  the Magic Kingdom, and it's also an easy monorail ride to Epcot.

If most of your time is going to be spent at the Hollywood Studios and Epcot, then head straight to the Yacht and Beach Club, and save money on the way! The location is perfect, as it's a short walk or relaxing boat ride to either. I also love being right across from the Boardwalk, with its entertainment and fabulous dining. Although the Contemporary has a great pool area, you cannot beat Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club. The sand-bottomed pool is amazing, and it has its own lazy river and super fun slide.

Hope this helps Jennifer! Write back with any other questions!
