We are scheduled to stay at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, I am getting information that is all over the place. Our stay begins 10/7, I have been told that the Cabins are not open yet. I have been on hold for an hour and a half already.

    Katherine,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

I reached out to Disney to get word on the status of The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. They did confirm that they are still not open at this time, with no announced time when they will be re-opened.

I understand your concern but know that when Disney needs to shift someone's accommodations, they typically will let you know in advance, via e-mail. Because the Cabins are considered a Moderate resort, my guess is that they will offer up an alternative from that category first, though that could vary.

I asked if there was a preferred line that you could use to reach out to Disney to adjust your plans, and they did offer this number (407-560-CHAT or 407-560-2428) to reach them, though they said that it was preferable for you to wait for messaging from them.

I know this can be frustrating. But I can tell you that in the times I have had a similar situation, Disney has always moved me to a resort that I felt was equal to, or even better than, what I had booked. I hope the same for you too.

    BONUS TIP
If you are given the choice among the Moderate resorts, I would recommend you pick Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Being on the Disney Skyliner route will get you two of the four theme parks in style, and in a matter of minutes!

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
