Hi Nicole,
January is a fabulous time of year to visit and I am excited that you are already looking forward to bringing your family back to Disney World. I love this time of year because the parks are a little less busy and the weather is cool and mild. If you book your trip for the earliest week in January, you can often still
catch the spectacular holiday festivities.
The current
cancellation policy does not limit the amount of times you can change your reservation. The caveat to this policy is that whenever you change your reservation it will be subject to whatever the new reservation policy is. I mention this so you are aware that if you change your reservation to the next year and the policy is different, you may no longer be able to reschedule the trip for a future day. Disney also has a disclaimer that they reserve the right to restrict changes to a reservation.
You will also need to remember that when you change your reservation, fees will likely be incurred due to increased ticket prices, date availability, or changes in resort rates. You are not locked into the price of your original vacation booking when you make a date change. The total price of your vacation is dependent on the actual dates of your travel.
If you are looking to save money for an upcoming trip some better options may be to look for guaranteed investments at your bank where you can put aside the money for your trip, get a return on your investment, and plan it when you are ready to commit to a final travel date. If you can find a good enough return you can use that extra money to splurge on some Disney World's
Enchanted Extras!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
