Can you schedule lightning lane arrival before entering the park? I'm considering conference attendees half day tickets but am concerned Individual Lightning Lane or Multipass Lightning Lanes may be fully booked before I arrive after 4pm.

Hey, howdy, hey Jennifer! Thanks for swinging by planDisney with your question, we're happy to help. And how exciting that you get to sprinkle a little pixie-dust on your convention experience by visiting a Disney Park. Woo hoo!

You absolutely can (and should) schedule your Lightning Lane passes in advance, and well before entering the park. That's one of the great aspects of the Lightning Lane system! If you are staying at a Disney Resort, your eligibility to book a Lightning Lane Individual or Multi-Pass opens up 7 days before your arrival date, starting at 7:00 am Eastern Time. For offsite guests, it's 3 days before arrival.

I recommend reviewing the list of included attractions and experiences now, and getting a plan together on which you'd like to reserve. Note that you can purchase both a Multi Pass and up to 2 Individual Passes for one visit date, so maybe it's a combination of these that will work best for you?

You're going to love using Lightning Lane Passes. Being able to skip the stand by line on some of your favorite attractions really helps you maximize your park time! When you purchase a Multi Pass using the My Disney Experience app, you will select three attractions and times. In your case, you would be allowed to select attraction pass times for later in the day. My family likes to start early, and as soon as we tap in to our first attraction... we hop on to the My Disney Experience app and select another pass. Because your Multi Pass reservation times will all be for later in the day, you may not find much availability for being able to book any additional, same day passes. But if the 3 guaranteed attractions you've selected when purchasing your Lightning Lane Multi Pass works for you, then ka-chow! You've got a great plan, and I say go for it!

You'll want to link your park ticket as soon as you have it, inside the My Disney Experience app. If you're staying at a Disney Resort, add that reservation, too. Then when your Lightning Lane eligibility window opens, you'll be all set to make that purchase from the app's home page.

I hope this helps, and I'll be sending pixie dust your way! If you need any further assistance or have additional questions, please send me a message at planDisney.

    Have a magical trip!
