It says that the new "Under the Sea-Journey of The Little Mermaid" is a slow moving spinning ride. Does the ride spin around the entire time (like Dumbo?)? (I have a 9 year old who is very sensitive to that spinning motion) Thanks!

Hi Amy! I think your nine-year-old would love Under the Sea -- Journey of the Little Mermaid. The ride is nothing like Dumbo and is more akin to rides like Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh. The Little Mermaid is an indoor ride in which you sit in a clamshell that slowly travels through Ariel's story. The clamshells do gently turn from side to side as you travel so that the riders can view the various audio-animatronic scenes, but they definitely don't spin or rotate continuously. It's a really beautiful ride with fantastic music, and everyone in the family from babies to the elderly can easily ride this one. If you want to preview the ride in advance, you can check out videos of it that other riders have posted on YouTube. I don't think your nine-year-old would have any problem with this ride. (If she hates spinning, definitely avoid Mission Space in Epcot though!)
