Hello, Bryan! Thanks for bringing your delectable question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Several years ago, Walt Disney World Resort offered a backstage experience called Disney Family Culinary Adventure, which allowed Guests to learn the tricks of the trade from Disney chefs. Although this event is no longer offered, I have a few magical ideas for you!
You'll be in for a delicious treat if you attend the
2019 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival during your trip this fall. I recommend looking into attending a
Culinary Demonstration which take place in the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion on Fridays and Saturdays at 12:30 PM. Or, you may want to consider one of the
Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It! hands-on workshops on select Mondays and Thursdays at 12:00 PM. If you're looking for an adventure that the whole family can enjoy, try the
Candy Sushi class, offered daily at Sunshine Seasons. Attendees will learn how to make maki- or nigari-style rolls with gummy fish, fruit leather, and rice cereal treats. Doesn't this sound like
soy much fun?!
If you have a budding pastry chef in your midst, Bryan,
Amorette's Patisserie in Disney Springs offers 90-minute cake decorating classes for Guests ages 10 and up. My fellow panelists, Leslie and Crystal, recently posted pictures of their finished Mickey Dome cakes, and they looked
très délicieux! Call (407) 939-3463 for more information, or visit the Walt Disney World website to book.
Taste of Magic Kingdom Park VIP Tour is the ultimate experience! While this tour doesn't include chef interaction, it does allow you to "Uncover the Magic Behind the Meals." Guests get access to backstage kitchens in Magic Kingdom Park and samples of iconic snacks (and even items that are still in the developmental process). I don't know about you, but I'd do just about anything to get a Dole Whip!
Bryan, I think you have all the ingredients for the perfect vacation! Have a fabulous time!
