Welcome back to planDisney, Vy! It's always so nice seeing a fellow Texan planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I am happy to help you today!
From one military spouse to another, thank you for your husband's service! The tickets you referenced in your question as "standard" are the
discounted Magic Your Way tickets, which you can purchase through your
local military base or
Shades of Green Resort. These tickets are activated and ready to be used, once you link them on your My Disney Experience mobile app. You can purchase these for your guests traveling with you, and you do not need to present military ID when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. You do need to make
Theme Park Reservations before arriving, which you can do once you link your tickets on the app.
The military tickets that do need you or your husband present for activation are the
Disney Military Salute tickets. These are the four-, five--, or six-day passes available for
retirees, 100% disabled Veterans, and Active Duty service members. If you purchase these, bring the receipt and emails you will receive along with your military ID to Guest Relations for activation. The catch with these tickets is that you can only purchase six per Service Member (or Spouse, not both) each year. The Magic Your Way tickets do not have a set limit. The Salute tickets also require Theme Park Reservations. While you are at Guest Relations, ask about the Memory Maker military discount! With a large group, taking all the photos is necessary, and at $98 (prices subject to change, it's worth every penny!
Vy, I hope all of this information was helpful! Please visit us at
planDisney in the future if you have other questions. Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World in a few weeks!
Magic Awaits!
