    I saw one answer from Marisol dated 7/22/2011 to this question, but its nearly two years old, so I was wondering if it had changed since then. Can you still use Disney Gift Cards on a Disney cruise to pay for on-board items?

    Welcome aboard, Jeff! I'm glad you were able to browse the Moms Panel site and find answers to your questions! Of course we are always happy to help clarify anything as well.

    Disney Gift Card are still accepted in the gift shops onboard the cruises, yes. Many people prefer to give their children a Disney Gift Card with a specific spending amount on it instead of giving them charging privileges on their Key to the World card. It is a great way to let the kids have spending money without worrying that they might accidentally rack up a big bill!

    However, for adults, I'd just recommend using your Key to the World card for any charges on the ship or Castaway Cay. If you have Disney Gift Cards that you'd like to apply to your balance, simply stop by Guest Services and they can add those cards to your stateroom account.

    My family buys Disney Gift Cards throughout the year at our local grocery store when they offer Extra Fuel Rewards for buying gift cards. We save on our gas and have money for our Disney Cruise all ready when it is time to set sail. Surely a win-win! I also enjoy taking our gift cards to Guest Services on Day One. It is less crowded then and sometimes we get our final statement the last night to find that we are owed a refund because we added more gift cards than what we actually charged! That is surely one nice way to end the cruise!
