Hi Dari, and welcome back to planDisney. Celebrating your anniversary at Disney World during the merriest time of the year sounds like an amazing vacation! I’d be happy to talk about the mosaic crafts at Disney resort hotels so you can commemorate your trip with a special souvenir.
I did the mosaic craft at the
Contemporary Resort earlier this year, and it was such a great keepsake to remember my birthday trip! Many Disney resort hotels have a mosaic class, but I don’t currently see it on the Yacht & Beach Club Resort recreation schedule. However, the activities are always changing, so I’d check the schedule when you get to Disney to see what’s happening while you’re there. It’s usually posted in the resort hotel lobby or near the pool area.
At the moment, I do see a Painting in the Vineyard class on Fridays in
Martha’s Vineyard Lounge, if you’re looking for another creative activity. This painting class is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you don’t need to sign up in advance. Another option would be to take the
Skyliner over to
Riviera Resort for their mosaic class called Art de la Mosaique. Currently, it runs on Sundays and Tuesdays, and you can sign up at the Eventi Room at the resort. While you’re there, don’t miss the incredible mosaic artwork featuring scenes from Peter Pan and Tangled over the walkway between the resort and the Skyliner station.
If you’re looking to secure your spot in a mosaic class in advance,
Spanish Mosaic Art at
Coronado Springs Resort is the only one that can be booked on the Disney World website or through the
My Disney Experience app. This activity, like dining reservations and Enchanting Extras, can be booked 60 days in advance (if you’re staying at a Disney resort hotel, you can make these reservations 60 days before check-in for your entire length of stay, up to a 10-night stay). In the past, I’ve also been able to sign up for African Mosaic Art at
Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village by calling the Tours and Recreation phone number. It’s also one of my favorite resort hotels to visit because of the delicious food options and being able to see the animals on the savanna. The neighboring
Animal Kingdom Lodge also has an impressive Christmas tree in December and, in recent years, there’s usually been a gingerbread animal display too! It's a short walk between the two resorts, or you can also take a complimentary shuttle.
If you’re looking for other ways to celebrate your anniversary, you might want to see if a
fireworks cruise is in your budget. Watching one of the nighttime spectaculars from a private boat is such an intimate and special experience. And the EPCOT Fireworks Cruise leaves right from the Bayside Marina at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.
I hope you have the most magical anniversary trip this December! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
