Hello, Aaron! Welcome to planDisney!
You and I are kindred spirits! I, too, purchase Disney Gift Cards (usually at a discount) each paycheck to use for my Walt Disney World vacations. Depending on the value of the cards, I would recommend combining them on the
Disney Gift Card website (up to $1000 per card). This just makes it easier to deal with, PLUS you can keep your combined cards on the site in case of loss or theft.
Once you arrive to check into your hotel in just a couple short weeks, you will pay the balance at the Guest Services desk. You can also use your Disney Gift Cards to pay for just about everything on the property. The only place I had trouble on my last trip was a popcorn cart that must have been offline at the time. Usually even the carts can accept a Disney Gift Card as payment.
When I was recently visiting, I saw some super cute 50th anniversary gift cards in many of the shops. These were able to be activated with just $15. I purchased one of each park, to use as my new combined cards for my next trip. I try to use a card that looks different than the ones I purchase at the store, just so I know which one has the most money linked to it.
My son managed to lose his gift card while wandering around EPCOT during the
International Food & Wine Festival. We were easily able to look it up on the Disney Gift Card website and transfer the balance to a different card. I had never had that happen before and was so grateful that I had loaded it onto the site!
I hope you have a fabulous visit for
The Most Magical Celebration on Earth! I look forward to seeing you here at planDisney when you are planning your next vacation.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
