To save money, how much time does it take to travel from Disney parks back to your Disney resort to eat a meal in your room versus our family of 6 eating inside the parks?

Hi Robin! The answer to your question can vary depending on the resort in which you're staying and the park that you're visiting. In general, travelling to a resort from a park can take 15 to 45 minutes each way, and if you're using Disney transportation, you may have to wait up to 15 minutes for a bus or boat to arrive to transport you.

If you're worried that returning to your resort room to eat will cut into your park time, consider other options. You're allowed to bring food and drinks and a small cooler into the parks, so pack a picnic for your family. (Click here to see the restrictions on what can be brought to the parks.) The quick-service restaurants offer food at less-expensive prices than the sit-down restaurants and the portions are generous so family members can share meals. Order free ice water to drink instead of paying for sodas. Consider a late morning or mid-afternoon all-you-can-eat meal that is filling enough to serve as both breakfast and lunch or both lunch and dinner.

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
