Hello Cristina!
Welcome to planDisney! You are days away from such a magical time and I'm so excited for you! My husband and I hate driving while on vacation. We drive so much in our non-vacation life that we just hate getting behind the wheel and driving while on vacation. Over the last few years, we have tried a few options to
get from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort and each has its pros and cons.
My favorite way of getting to the Resorts from the airport is to use an online rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft. Download the app for the service you like and from your phone, you can request a driver to take you to any location. I prefer this for the convenience of being able to request a car at any time. Many things can go wrong when traveling such as delayed flights or lost luggage. Since I can request a ride when I am ready I don't have to worry about a missed ride or scheduled bus. The negative is that car seats are not usually provided and the cost varies based on time of day and demand.
Another option you should look into immediately is to reach out to a private shuttle or car service. Examples include Mears Connect and Happy Limo. Mears Connect has a check-in desk at the Main Terminal and Terminal C at Orlando International Airport. You should reserve your ride with them before you arrive but they do say on their website that walk-up customers are welcome. I used Mears Connect on a trip earlier this year and was assigned to a large van that I shared with a few other guests. Other times it's a large motor coach. Mears Connect does advertise set costs per person and since they are motorcoaches, a car seat is not required. A private car service is also possible but is best reserved before you arrive. Car seats and car preferences can be reserved beforehand as well.
Another option is to
rent a car that you can use for your entire trip. Just like any airport, there will be rental car companies available to book a vehicle with before you arrive. There is a chance you could rent a vehicle when you arrive without a reservation but it is not guaranteed. It's great to have a vehicle you can use at any time during your trip but as I said before, driving on vacation is not my idea of fun. The last time I rented a car I made my brother drive the whole trip.
The good thing is that once you arrive on Walt Disney World Resort property you will have a few
complimentary transportation options to use! Since you are staying at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort the only complimentary option for leaving the Resort to go to the Parks or to Disney Springs are the busses. However, if you are looking to Park hop or travel from another location there are more options including the Disney Skyliner, Monorail, or boats!
I hope this helps and that you make it here safely!
Happy Planning!
