Hi Jamie, I'm glad you stopped back with a follow up question to your question about San Juan adventures.
If you're looking for one one beach day Port Adventure, I suggest taking it in St. Maarten! While you can certainly take a taxi to a beach nearby the pier, for a pretty reasonable fee, there are some great Disney Port Adventures to beaches there. I recommend the
Afternoon Beach Bash on Orient Bay. Plus, complimentary fruit punch for the kiddos and rum punch for the grown-ups is included all afternoon! Now, that's a plus, right?
Since you'll enjoy a beach in St. Maarten and of course the best beach of all at Castaway Cay, you might consider spending your San Juan day exploring the culture and history of this old city on your own. The nice thing about this port is that just a few hundred yards from the pier you can explore the city, including Castillo San Cristobal. I loved my visit to San Juan and really learned quite a bit as I strolled those city streets an explored the castle fortress. Plus, you'll be free to explore on your own, take in some shopping, eat at a local spot and head back to the ship whenever you're ready. If you do decide to take a more formal Port Adventure incorporating the history and culture of the city, I recommend the
Castillo San Cristobal featuring the Youth Activity. The whole family will join a guide for the first part of the tour, then kids get to stay with youth counselors from the ship to do their own mason work craft while parents get an hour to shop or explore on their own. This is a win-win for everyone!
I hope those ideas help as you continue planning! Hope to see you back again with further questions!
